MediRide EMS Plans Ishpeming Expansion
(Ishpeming, MI) - MediRide, Inc. EMS and
its Board of Directors announced recently
its plans to open an additional location for
its emergency ambulance operations in
Marquette County. MediRide, Inc. EMS
President, David Guizzetti, in a press
release, made the announcement last
Monday afternoon. "MediRide EMS has
received multiple requests from patients as
well as doctors and other types of medical
providers for us to open, in western
Marquette County, an additional location in
their area and provide our advanced life
support (ALS) ambulance service," said
its Board of Directors announced recently
its plans to open an additional location for
its emergency ambulance operations in
Marquette County. MediRide, Inc. EMS
President, David Guizzetti, in a press
release, made the announcement last
Monday afternoon. "MediRide EMS has
received multiple requests from patients as
well as doctors and other types of medical
providers for us to open, in western
Marquette County, an additional location in
their area and provide our advanced life
support (ALS) ambulance service," said
Guizzetti in a statement. "We took those comments to heart and after a year of serious consideration
decided to go ahead and begin to develop our expansion plans," he said.
MediRide EMS preliminary plans for the expansion call for the service to operate its western
Marquette County service full-time out of a station based in the city of Ishpeming. With the addition of
this station, the company will be able to provide emergency ALS ambulance service to all of Marquette
County residents. "the western Marquette County area is seeing amazing growth in the health care
industry and it's only natural that MediRide EMS would be a part of that (growth)," said MediRide, Inc.
spokesman Jason Harrington. "We're excited to bring our advanced services to the people out on the
west end."
With the expansion move, MediRide, Inc. EMS CFO, Michelle DeLisle, wanted residents of western
Marquette County to be assured of the company's commitment to support the local health care
community. "We're very proud of the accomplishments of the western Marquette County health care
community and we'd like ensure everyone that we're just as committed to local health care," said
DeLisle. "Unless severe medical conditions warrant, or a patient specifically requests transport to
another facility, we've dedicated ourselves to transporting all patients from that area to their local
hospital for treatment."
MediRide, Inc. EMS currently operates a full-time Advanced Life Support ambulance operation,
responding to calls for emergency assistance as well as non-emergency transport requests
24-hours a day, 365 days per year out of its corporate headquarters in Marquette. MediRide, Inc. EMS
will continue to operate its Marquette location with the addition of its services in the Ishpeming area.
MediRide, Inc. EMS has offered no specific time line of when its services will be available to western
Marquette County residents, but the press release stated that services will begin within the next few
weeks.
