EDUCATION DIRECTOR NAMED
(Marrquette, MI) - The MediRide, Inc. EMS Board of Directors is pleased to announce it has selected Mark Norris, EMT-P, I/C, as the Director of Education for its new EMS Academy located in Marquette, Michigan.
"Mark comes to our academy with decades of EMS education experience, said MediRide, Inc. EMS President Dave Guizzetti. "He's literally taught thousands of students from all around the Upper Peninsula, and these folks have gone on to successful careers in the EMS industry all around this country. In fact, Mark was my own instructor when I entered the EMS business, and I couldn't be happier to have him join our team and lead this incredible academy."
MediRide EMS Academy, based in Marquette, Michigan, is preparing to offer courses designed to teach and train tomorrow's emergency medical professionals, and offer programs teaching the full range of technician levels to its students. Courses will include, MFR, EMT-Basic, EMT-Specialist, EMT-Paramedic, and Instructor Coordinator levels, and be taught using the National Standard curriculum. "When a student completes our courses, he'll be fully prepared to pass the National Registry examinations, allowing graduates the opportunity to be licensed and practice in nearly every state in this country, but we hope these folks will choose to stay and work right here in the U.P.," Guizzetti said.
In addition to EMS career training courses, MediRide EMS Academy will also offer continuing education courses and trainings for currently licensed EMT's. Recertification classes for professionals will also include ACLS, BCLS, PALS and others.
MediRide EMS Academy also plans to involve the community in its education efforts. "We love getting involved with the people of our communities, our friends, our neighbors, and our families. We'd love to be able to help these people live safer, more rewarding lives, and by inviting them to take part in our community education classes, we'll do just that," Guizzetti said. As part of the Community Education Series, MediRide EMS Academy will offer members of the general public courses in CPR, basic first aid, and others.
"We're so excited to have Mark here, designing these courses, and heading up our Education Division, and we know, without a doubt, that he'll turn out the very highest quality, top-notch EMS professionals working in the business today." MediRide EMS Academy plans to offer its first EMT-Basic Course, under the direction of Mark Norris, in March of 2010.
