For patients that are comfortable with bearing weight, walking and easy transfers, MediRide, Inc. offers its
AssistCAR transportation. Many patients without their own means of transportation are driven to various medical,
dental, vision, outpatient, surgical, or therapeutic appointments in our comfortable passenger vehicles.
This service is offered to both private citizens as well as to hospitals, nursing centers and assisted living facilities.
Many healthcare institutions throughout the Upper Peninsula choose MediRide, Inc. as their preferred
transportation provider.
AssistCAR attendants are first-aid trained to assist patients with minor ailments that may occur during transport. All
attendants are able to summon more advanced assistance from licensed EMS personnel if necessary. Our
AssistCAR attendants are always willing to help patients into and out of their appointments. MediRide's AssistCAR
is available for both local and long distance transports to destinations such as Marshfield Clinic, Mayo Brothers
Hospital in Rochester, University of Michigan Medical Center, St. Joseph's Hospital, University of Wisconsin at
Madison Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay, or to any destination within the continental United States.
In most cases, payment is required immediately following the transport. You may request to have transport
charges billed to you at a later date, however prior authorization is required. To schedule a transport, please call us
